A Great Sports Weekend

I’m sitting high after a great weekend for my sports teams. Let’s run down “my personal success on behalf of my teams’ wins.” Oh well, it makes me feel good.

Saturday:

Ohio State played horribly, but handily defeated Ohio 26-14.

University of South Florida beat our in-state University of Central Florida rivals 31-24.

Monday:

Denver demoralized the low-life loser Oakland Raiders on their silly little baseball stadium field last night/this morning 41-14.

My fantasy football team creamed my enemy with the second-highest score of the week, 109 points, putting my team second place in the power rankings for the season.

Good weekend!

One Week As the iThemes Customer Support Manager

Well, I have had one full week (minus Monday’s holiday) of being a full-time customer support manager for iThemes and a part-time moderator for Revolution Themes with Brian Gardner. To say it has been great is the understatement of the year so far. Tuesday, I got dressed right away, but stayed barefoot. Wednesday was pretty busy because I had to leave for 2 classes that really messed with my day, but who cared? No one! Yesterday, I had some really good ideas that I passed up to Cory and our designer, James, and they loved them, so today we worked out some details on Skype and…

Today I got our live chat support to work! I put it up on the forums and got a call within 2 minutes of it coming online. I need to work out some stuff so it’s not the first thing people click, rather than posting a thread question for the benefit of everyone and tying me to the keyboard, but it is a GREAT customer-relations advantage.

I also managed to create and post 5 video tutorials of one of our two new themes we released this week, and I just might do the other 5 for the other theme over the weekend so we’re all geared for Monday when our fifth and final operations employee begins. Monday will be a great day of Company celebration!

It’s time for me to load up WoW and play my heart out for some well-deserved R&R after such a productive week.

A Change of Scenery: Quit My Job

I’m sorry that it has been so quiet around here lately, but it’s because nearly every ounce of my mental being was being poured into either surviving at work or getting a new job. One of the two efforts was going to prevail, and I’m delighted to announce that I have landed a new job that allows me to work from home… or anywhere there is a steady Internet connection and cell phone reception.

I will post more details after my exit interview and I start my new position as the small company’s Customer Support Manager. We have a planning/teambuilding retreat planned for the latter part of September, and I’m so pumped to get to go on my first business trip. Words cannot do my elation justice.

Classes started back up yesterday with a level 4000 English Grammar course and it continues tomorrow night, followed by Modern European Novel (which includes Joyce’s Ulysses).

Gorgeous has been plugging away at her new job as the Office Manager at a local and very successful family-run shutter manufacturer in Tampa. She just finished her third week and has really taken the bull by the horns and is getting everything done and can start working on enjoying it with a more relaxed fashion now that she has a handle on things. I couldn’t be more proud of how awesome she is at catching on to new systems and getting things done.

I’m tired. She’s in bed. I’m going there soon.

iPhone in the House

My check for the iPhone came in and I made it a half day at work because it was a tad slow, beautiful has the day off, and I wanted to take advantage of the afternoon to set the phone up.

It is awesome beyond description!

I’m looking for a way to import my contacts from my old phone’s SIM card, but it doesn’t seem to like my old card.

Oh, yeah. This entire post was created using the WordPress app on the phone.
